The Epitome Of Vision & Selfless Ambition

The long awaited day came when all activists came out in their numbers and graced the program. They say student apathy is an issue of concern. if this is true, then I must say the vetting day was an exception.
Many are the aspirants who walked their words by displaying stupendous performances before the student populace and it took  the witnesses by surprise.

A board that constituted the major stake holders of SRC/NUGS TLC made a thorough questioning and scrutinized the ideas, mission and visions of the various hopefuls from all angles. Hopefuls for the various portfolios were assessed on their knowledge of the social affairs of the school, the financial status pertaining to some aspects of our development, and the way they will go about the execution of their roles should they be given the nod, so to speak.
Not withstanding, other aspects of their personal life, campus and national life were also enquired as well.
This process undoubtedly exposed the strengths and weaknesses of the aspirants in one way or the other.

Observing keenly the procedures of the vetting and how aspirants expressed their ideological prowess, there is no doubt even for a split- second the competence of all the aspirants. But let me share with you the reason why NORBERT KIPO and ABDALLAH FAIZA stood tall amongst the other aspirants for the same portfolio (SRC PRESIDENT).
They have walked their talk all this while and promise to even run the talk, should they be given the chance. Norbert  Kipo will be a replica of a leader whose manner of articulation adds up a plus, for he would always walk his way through with fluency in students interest.

Did you know that with effective collaboration with the alumni association, some negotiations could be done that would in one way or the other improve massively, the lives of students on campus?

For the sake of KIPO's ideology,  I now understand that the media would do us good.
Kipo said that in an attempt to alleviate student apathy towards SRC programs, there is the need to nip the problem in the bud, by engaging in effective communication with the student populace.
KIPO advises us that as young politicians we should engage in politics devoid of insanity and painting black, our opponents. This manner of politicking would only build up false representation and do more harm than good as people would be persuaded to vote based on fallacies, rather than feasible policies.

He also explained why there is a bad side to criticizing heavily.
"Instead of criticizing, instead of condemning, instead of making judgements, we rather offer support and suggestions". These were the words of NORBERT KIPO.
I must confess, he would be a leader who would make feasible the SUGGESTIONS of students should he be given the nod. These observations are just the tip of the iceberg.

In light of this, it is pertinent to note that it is not wrong to criticize, but we rather should criticize constructively.
Our constructive criticism can only bear fruit if we join the train of works but not words. I am grateful for your time with me.

                     All correct,
                     Rabiusodja.

Masters of the Tongue (Pun Intended)

To have a superior command over one's tongue and the English language is an ability very few people can master. And fewer still, are brave enough to put it on full display to articulate an argument in front of a hugely expectant crowd. . This was what made the debate so interesting. In a debate, you have to say the right thing, at the right time and in the right language. Of course the audience is just there to listen and for some, intimidate. But let's not dwell on that.

Scintillating, wasnt it? The first theatrical outplay of the British Parliamentary debate ever to happen during an SRC week celebration. This outplay put chills in our spines and stimulated the audience into an aura of ecstatic brouhaha. It was the third day of the University for Development Studies Tamale Campus SRC week celebration. The SRC was circumspect in hosting the UDS debate Society, after several critisms about their purported program lineup for the week celebration.

The debate commenced after the SHS quiz competition and was a tournament between SMHS and FOE. It was a battle of the opposition to refute the government's bill "This house would make autonomous, each UDS campus". All 8 speakers presented their claim to the house, but there was one gentleman who stood tall out of the lot. From his emotional spark to the artistic, yet glee inducing presentation, it was evident that the masses in the auditorium adored his apt speech. No wonder this decorated debater reached yet another milestone in his debating career and was adjudged the best speaker for the entire debate. His dexterity in the art is just marvellous. Norbert Kipo is a gem, polished and poised for UDS.

Norbert Kipo still remains the UDSTLC debate champion after he won it the previous year in the Dean's debate. This fine gentleman participated in last year's Ghana University Debate Championship and was adjudged the best institutional speaker for UDS, which saw team reps from all 4 campuses. He is currently the UDS SMHS debate society trainer. As the streak continues, so too will his legacy.....and the quest for redemption by his opponents.
At least, they live to fight another day.
